Insert the anoscope in the rectum of the patient to see the hemorrhoid. 

Apply local anesthesia (Lidocaine 1%, 3-6ml) in the muscle layer under the hemorrhoid, NOT in the hemorrhoidal tissue.

Insert the HP45i probe in the hemorrhoid and apply the RF energy.

Apply the RF energy to the surface of the hemorrhoid.
